To get to the hotel at Inveraran a detour from the way is necessary, but the effort is worth it. We were having our lunch in the Old Drovers Inn when the backpacker from the Boathouse camp came in, so we all had lunch together. He was thinking of staying in that area for the night, but we wanted to do another seven miles or so into the Crianlarich area. It was good in the Drovers Inn, it has lots of character. Being Sunday lunch time it was fairly busy, the three Americans from Inversnaid were there, we had seen them earlier that morning on the way.

The walk up Glen Falloch made a nice change from the loch side paths. it was partly on broad tracks and partly on narrow winding paths, mostly out in the open. There was one particularly fine stretch where the river crashes and tumbles its way round boulders and over waterfalls. We had a half hour rest in a shady little bower by the river, it was good to cool down by splashing the icy water over my face and arms.

We camped here for the night in the hills above Keilator farm, almost in sight of Crianlairch
We heard a Nightjar calling in the night.

The sky was very clear with a wonderful panorama of stars on a velvet background.
